How to Get the Fox’s Favorite Food
In Disney Dreamlight Valley, the favorite food of all foxes is the white sturgeon. This is a rare fish that can be caught using a fishing rod in the Frosted Heights biome. In the ponds, look for orange bubbles in the Frosted Heights ponds.
Next, using your fishing rod, cast your line, aiming for orange bubbles in the water (bubble color matters here). While the rare fish is the fox’s favorite food, foxes also enjoy seafood and fish found while fishing in the icy waters.
How to Feed the Fox
To successfully feed a fox, you will need to play a short game of “tag” with it. Approach the fox, and it will run a few steps away from you. Chase it a few times until it stops, sits down, and allows you to interact with it to feed it the sturgeon. Feeding a fox its favorite food will help you unlock it as a companion in your collection.
What to Feed Dreamlight Foxes
There are also foods each companion LIKES, which is different from their preferred, favorite food. Although both will make your companion happy, you’ll get the best results by feeding the fox in DDV white sturgeon.

How to Get the Fox as a Companion
Feed the fox in Dreamlight Valley to convince one to become your companion. Companions accompany your character throughout the game, unless you remove them or choose a different companion. Foxes you’ve found and fed will show up in your collections in your backpack.
To get any animal to become your faithful companion, consistency is key. Feed them once daily to maintain progress towards becoming a companion. While each animal needs a different amount of feedings and foods, they all love attention every day.
A single feeding each day is all that is needed for happy Dreamlight animals and companions.
